You are required to appear and to defend against the Complaint filed against you in this case within thirty (30) days from the date of service of this Summons upon you. If you fail to appear and to defend, plaintiff will apply to the Court for the relief demanded in the Complaint.
SUMMARY: Plaintiff Washington County (“Plaintiff”), a political subdivision of the State of Oregon, claims that pursuant to ORS 131A.225, $1,000.00 in U.S. Currency (“Defendant in rem”) is the proceeds or instrumentalities of prohibited conduct that took place in Washington County and was lawfully seized. A Notice of Seizure was served on Hunter Hartzell and Plaintiff received Hunter Hartzell’s claim of interest in the Defendant in rem in the amount of $1,000.00. Defendant in rem is subject to civil forfeiture pursuant to ORS Chapter 131A. Plaintiff prays for a judgment of the Court: (1) forfeiting Defendant in rem to Plaintiff; (2) awarding Plaintiff its costs and disbursements; and (3) granting Plaintiff other relief that is just and equitable.
