Candidacy may be declared by any city resident (qualified elector (registered voter) & 6 month residency minimum).
If you are interested, please pick up an elections filing packet between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. after June 01, 2016 at:

All candidates must submit the following to the Aurora City Hall by: Monday, August 22, 2016 by 4:30 P.M.:
• Filing of Candidacy for Nonpartisan Nomination (SEL 101); and
• Candidate’s Statement of Organization (SEL 220)
• Petition for Nonpartisan Nomination Signature Sheet (SEL 121)
The Elections Packet that the potential candidate will pick up at Aurora City Hall will have the State Elections book with information outlining procedures for filing, accepting donations and other requirements from the Aurora City Hall or Marion County Elections Office. The packet has a lot of information in it that you will be encouraged to read before even starting on your campaign. The election will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
