NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOREST GROVE PLANNING COMMISSION

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held before the Forest Grove Planning Commission, on Monday, August 15, 2016, at 7:00 PM, or thereafter, at the Forest Grove Community Auditorium (1915 Main Street) to review the following request:

* Amend the Forest Grove Code to delete Section 5.800 through 5.860 (and repeal Ordinance Number 2005-17) Areas of Special Flood Hazard in its entirety.
* Amend the Forest Grove Development Code Article 2 Variances, Article 5 Natural Resource Areas, Article 8 Hazards and Resources, and Article 12 Definitions to adopt new Flood Damage Prevention Regulations and Definitions.

The Planning Commission will consider the proposal and base a decision on the following review criteria. Comments in response to this proposal must address specific review criteria:

Development Code Text Amendments (DC 10.2.630)

A. The text amendment is consistent with the relevant goals and policies of the Forest Grove Comprehensive Plan.
B. The text amendment is consistent with the relevant statewide and regional planning goals, program and rules.

At the time and place of the public hearing, all persons will be given a reasonable opportunity to give testimony about this proposal. If an issue is not raised in the hearing (by person or by letter) or if the issue is not explained in sufficient detail to allow the Planning Commission to respond to the issue, then that issue cannot be used as the basis for an appeal to the City Council or to the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA).

If additional documents or evidence are provided in support of an application, any party shall be entitled to a continuance of the hearing. Unless there is a continuance, if a participant so requests before the conclusion of the initial evidentiary hearing, the record shall remain open for at least seven (7) days after the hearing.
