INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER PRETREATMENT
NOTICE OF INDUSTRIES IN SIGNIFICANT
NON-COMPLIANCE (SNC) FOR THE YEAR 2015.

The City of Wilsonville’s Industrial Pretreatment Program protects the City’s wastewater treatment system and the health and safety of workers in the wastewater treatment process.  Federal regulations mandate the establishment of the pretreatment program, including the issuance of Wastewater Discharge Permits to significant industrial users of the wastewater treatment system.  According to federal regulations [40 CFR 403.8 (f) (2) (vii)] the City is required to publish at least annually a report of industries that have significantly violated applicable wastewater discharge standards.

The following Industries were found in Significant Non-Compliance (SNC) in the calendar year 2015:

Violation:       Xerox Corporation’s sample result for December 8, 2015 for Total Nickel exceeded numerical permit limits by over two times the allowable local discharge limit. The City’s local discharge limit is 0.61 mg/l and Xerox discharge report showed a result of 3.74 mg/l total Nickel.

Action:  The City issued an Administrative Order with a compliance schedule requiring payment of a $120.00 administrative fine. Xerox Corporation paid the fine on January 14, 2016 and has completed the Compliance Order putting Xerox back in full compliance of its Industrial Pretreatment Permit # 11-006C.
