NOTICE OF APPLICATION

Pursuant to Section 50.45.4 of the Beaverton Development Code, public notice of the following development application is being provided:

CU2016-0010 B-Fit Gyms Extended Hours of Operation
The applicant, B-Fit Gyms, requests Conditional Use approval for extended hours of operation associated with a health club use. In the Community Service (CS) commercial zone, uses operating between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., are subject to Conditional Use approval when located within 500 feet of an existing residential use. The applicant proposes to operate 24 hours a day for seven days a week. B-Fit Health Club will operate in the building addressed at 8235 SW Apple Way. This is the same building once occupied by Walmart and Zupan’s Market. The building and property is generally located south of SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway, west of SW Laurelwood Avenue and north of SW Apple Way. The property can also be identified as Tax Lot 1000 on Washington County Assessor’s Map 1S1-13BC. The property is zoned Community Service (CS) and is located within the Denney Whitford / Raleigh West Neighborhood Association Committee.

In order to be addressed in the staff report and decision, written comments on the above development proposal are to be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Mailed written comments can be mailed or delivered in person to the Planning Division, Community Development Department, 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97005.

The decision-making authority for the above application is the Planning Commission. Any decision on the above development application shall be based on the Conditional Use approval criteria found in Section 40.15.15.3.C of the City Development Code. The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the above development application on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers, 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97005.

A copy of the staff report will be available for review at least seven (7) calendar days before the hearing date. Pursuant to Section 50.45.18, within seven (7) calendar days from the date the decision making authority adopts a land use order, the Director shall cause the order to be signed, dated, and mailed to the applicant and the property owner.
