PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to Section 50.40.4 of the Beaverton Development Code, public notice of the following development application is being provided:

Tan Tan Café Significant Tree Removal TP2016-0011

The applicant requests Tree Plan Type 2 approval to remove Significant Tree #25; a walnut tree measured at 38 inches in diameter at breast height, from the parking lot of what is currently developed as a café. The applicant proposes mitigation of the removal with the planting of a 2 inch caliper black gum or equivalent species tree. The applicant’s certified arborist has recommended removal of Significant tree #25 due to infection of thousand cankers disease causing a health and safety risk to surrounding people and property. No other modifications to the site are proposed. The site is located at 12675 SW Broadway, Tax Lots 04400 of Washington County Assessor’s Map 1S116AA. The site is within the Regional Center – Old Town (RC-OT) zoning district and within the Central Beaverton Neighborhood Association Committee.

Any decision on the above development proposal shall be based on the Approval Criteria contained in the following sections of Development Code of the Beaverton: 40.90.15.2.C Tree Plan Type 2.

Should the applicant request it, the Facilities Review Committee Meeting will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016. The Facilities Review Committee is not a decision-making body but advises the Director on a project’s conformity to the technical criteria specified in Section 40.03 of the Development Code of the City of Beaverton. The Facilities Review Committee meeting is open to the public, but is not intended for public testimony.

Written comments on the above development proposal shall be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in order to be addressed in the staff report. Failure to raise an issue or failure to provide statements or evidence with sufficient specificity to afford the decision-making authority an opportunity to respond to such issue, may preclude appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals on that issue. Mailed written comments shall be sent to the Current Planning Division, PO Box 4755, Beaverton, OR 97076. Written comments submitted in person shall be delivered to the Planning Division, 4th Floor, the Beaverton Building, 12725 SW Millikan Way, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.

The Director is the decision-making authority for the above application and shall issue a written decision on the above development proposal on or around Wednesday, November 30, 2016, pursuant to Section 50.40.10. Copies of the staff report will be made available on the City’s website or may be purchased at the Planning Division Counter for a reasonable cost.
