Pursuant to Oregon Revised Statute 275.110, ORS 275.120, and order of the Board of Commissioners of Washington County on March 26, 2013, Washington County will offer for sale, to the highest bidder at public auction, certain parcels of real property.  All properties are surplus to County needs.  The auction will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. on May 1, 2013, with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Shirley Huffman Auditorium of the Washington County Public Services Building, 155 North First Avenue, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124.

Terms and Conditions are as follows:

1.  The auction will be oral.

2. The auction will be conducted by the Support Services/ Facilities & Park Services Division under the authority of the Washington County Sheriff.

3.  Properties will be sold individually or grouped as indicated.

4. Unless otherwise noted, a ten percent deposit will be required at the time of sale.  This deposit will be forfeited, if the buyer does not complete the sale.  The balance will be due at closing.

5. The County will accept cash or personal checks for the deposit.

6. The County will accept certified or cashier checks for total payment.

7. The County will obtain preliminary title reports on each property where possible and will make them available for inspection prior to the sale.

8. The County intends to convey property through a quit claim deed except as expressly noted.

9.  All sales shall be final and refunds will not be made after an offer is accepted by the County.

10.  Failure to complete payment within 30 days after notice from the County that closing papers are ready will void the sale and the property will revert to the County.  Purchaser will forfeit the ten (10) percent deposit, if the sale is not complete.

11.  The County will record all appropriate documents.  Fees for recording will be added to the purchase price of property.

12.  Washington County reserves the right to delete any parcel or parcels from the sale for any reason up to the time of sale.

13. Notebooks with pertinent information on each site are available for viewing at the Washington County Facilities & Parks Services office, 169 North First Street, Hillsboro.  Copies of the entire notebook will be available for $20 or $5 per parcel at the Facilities Management Office.  Information regarding individual properties provided by the County is from sources deemed reliable, but the County does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness.  It is the prospective purchaser’s responsibility to research all factual and legal matters affecting the property prior to submitting a bid.

14.  The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.
