CITY OF SCAPPOOSE NOTICE OF A LEGISLATIVE LAND USE PUBLIC HEARING The Scappoose Planning Commission and City Council will hold public hearings in regard to the following matter: Docket # CPTA2-17 The City of Scappoose proposes land use amendments consisting of the following proposed actions: Adoption of the Scappoose Parks, Trail and Open Space Plan Amends the Comprehensive Plan Text by: o Replacing all parks and recreation text within the inventories section with updated information o Editing the Forest Lands in the Area to reflect the current situation o Removing the Open Space section within inventories o Updating the Natural Factors and Local Resources Goals and Policies and Open Space Goals and Policies o Adopting the Scappoose Parks, Trails and Open Space Master Plan as Appendix K The Planning Commission hearing is scheduled for June 8th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Scappoose City Hall Council Chambers, 33568 E. Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon. The initial City Council hearing is scheduled for June 19th, 2017, with a final City Council hearing scheduled for July 17th, 2017, at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers. The purpose of the hearings is to take testimony, either written or oral, regarding the proposed amendments. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council and the City Council may approve, approve with modifications, or deny the proposed amendments following the Public Hearing. Copies of the proposed amendments are available for inspection at the Scappoose Community Development Center (52610 NE 1st Street). Copies are also available for purchase at a cost of $0.15 per page for black & white or $0.20 per page for color. Interested parties may submit written comments to the City of Scappoose, City Planner, 33568 E. Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon, 97056 or fax comments to (503) 543-5679 by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 7th, 2016. Failure to raise an issue in person, by letter, or fax prior to the close of the public comment period, or failure to provide sufficient specificity to afford the decision-maker an opportunity to respond to the issue, precludes appeal on that issue.
