NOTICE OF APPLICATION Pursuant to Section 50.45.4 of the Beaverton Development Code, public notice of the following development application is being provided: VAR2017-0003 – Mountainside High School – Sign Variance On August 30, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., the City of Beaverton Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing to consider a proposal by the Beaverton School District for a freestanding sign at the new Mountainside High School campus. The Variance proposal seeks exception to a standard found in Section 60.40.40.1.A of the Beaverton Development Code, limiting the number and size of free-standing signs. The sign subject to this Variance proposal would be placed at the school entrance along SW 175th Avenue. The proposed sign is approximately 35 square feet in size and six feet in height. Mountainside High School is generally located on northwest corner of SW Scholls Ferry Road and SW 175th Avenue and is addressed at 12500 SW 175th Avenue. The property can also be identified as Tax Lot 100 on Washington County’s Tax Assessors Map 2S1-06AC and Tax Lot 800 on Washington County’s Tax Assessor’s Map 2S1-06. The decision-making authority for the above application is the Planning Commission. Any decision on the above development application shall be based on approval criteria as contained the Beaverton Development Code, Chapter 40: Section 40.95.15.1.C for Variance. Failure to raise an issue in a hearing, by testifying in person or by letter, or failure to provide statements or evidence with sufficient specificity to afford the decision-making authority an opportunity to respond to such issue, may preclude appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals on that issue. To be included as part of the Staff Report addressed to the Planning Commission, written comments must be received by Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
