NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL (Legislative – LOC 50.07.003.16.e) Hearing Date, Time, and Location: Tuesday, January 2, 2018; 6:30 p.m. City Council Chambers 380 A Avenue Lake Oswego, OR 97034 File Numbers: LU 17-0052 (Ordinance 2759) Applicant: City of Lake Oswego Nature of Application and Proposed Legislative Amendments: A request from the City of Lake Oswego for text amendments to the Community Development Code (CDC) amending the standards for development of flag lots and private access lanes. The Planning Commission and City Council identified this as a 2017 Planning Commission Goal. The purpose of the amendments is to streamline, update and clarify the code. This process is part of the City’s ongoing effort to implement the Comprehensive Plan (adopted in 2014), pursuant to City Council policies on preserving the character of existing established residential neighborhoods, maintaining clear and objective standards for development, and avoiding unnecessary restrictions on property owners. On December 11, 2017, the Planning Commission finalized their recommendation that the City Council approve the proposed amendments. The record of the proceedings for LU 17-0052 can be found on the City’s website at: http://www.ci.oswego.or.us/projects (Under Search enter LU 17-0052, then press Submit) Amendments would be implemented through the adoption of Ordinance 2759, which will be considered at the public hearing. The title of the ordinance is as follows: Ordinance 2759 An ordinance of the City of Lake Oswego amending LOC 50.06.003.1, LOC 50.07.007.2 and LOC 50.10.003.2 of Chapter 50 (Community Development Code) for the purpose of updating the flag lot standards regarding landscaping, setbacks and parking; limiting the number of flag lots served by an access lane to two; removing the requirement to connect access lanes; amending the definition of flag lot, and adopting findings (LU 17-0052).
