NOTICE OF AURORA PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING Date: August 7, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Place: Aurora City Hall 21420 Main Street NE Aurora, Oregon 97002 Application: Variance (VAR-2018-02/Conditional Use Permit (CUP-2018-03) Location: 14815 Smith Lane NE, Aurora OR Map 041W12CA, Tax Lot 100 Applicants: Virgle McVey Zone: Low Density Residential Zone (R-1) Request: A Variance (VAR) application to allow con- struction of a 50×100, approx. 5,000 sq. ft. maximum, hay barn (accessory structure) in the front yard of the subject property. The Low Density Residential (R-1) zone re- stricts accessory structures to a maximum of 1,000 sq. ft. on lots larger than 15,000 sq. ft. The applicant is also requesting a variance from the maximum height set for accessory structures of 18-feet to allow a 26-foot maxi mum height on the proposed accessory structure. A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) application to allow an accessory structure in the front yard of the subject property. In accordance with R-1 zone, accessory structures permitted in the rear or side yard of a property (or may be permitted in a front yard, pending a conditional use permit). Approval Criteria: Aurora Municipal Code, Section 16.64- Variance and Section 16.60 Conditional Uses A copy of the application and all documents and evidence are available for inspection at no cost and copies will be provided at reasonable cost. A copy of the staff report will be available for inspection at no cost and copies will be provided at a reasonable cost at least seven days prior to the hearing. The Chair will open the hearing, receive an oral summary of the staff report and invite oral and written testimony from supporters, opponents and others. Issues which may provide the basis for appeal must be raised in writing not later than the close of the comment period or the close of the hearing on this case. Such issues must be raised with and accompanied by statements or evidence sufficient to afford this body, and the parties to this hearing, an adequate opportunity to respond to each issue precludes appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals on that issue.
