SOUTHEAST ALASKA POWER AGENCY (SEAPA) ELECTRICAL SUBMARINE POWER CABLE Bids due: May 15, 2020 INVITATION TO BID The Southeast Alaska Power Agency (SEAPA) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to replace one electrical submarine power cable in the Stikine crossing, between the Islands of Woronkofski and Vank in Southeast Alaska. The crossing is approximately 16,700 feet long, with a maximum water depth of 700 feet, and has four single core submarine cables that were installed in 1983. The most north easterly cable faulted on September 2019 at approximately 2000ft from Woronkofski Island terminal. The faulted cable must be removed and discarded by the contractor and a new three core 69 kV cable shall be supplied and installed by the contractor, with ancillary equipment for a fully functional system. Bids are due May 15, 2020.
