NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS / INVITATION TO BID: STREET SLURRY SEAL PROJECT –

Notice is hereby given that Sealed Bids for furnishing all materials, equipment, labor, and services for the 2016 Street Slurry Seal Project will be physically received by Scott Fleury, Engineering Services Manager, Siskiyou Conference Room, Ashland Community Development, 51 Winburn Way, Ashland, Oregon, (mailing address: 20 E. Main Street, Ashland OR 97520), until 2:00 PM (Siskiyou Conference Room Clock) on June 7, 2016, at which time proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids physically received after this time will not be considered. All bids received prior to the due date and time and in proper form will be publicly opened and read in the Siskiyou Conference Room at the time set forth above as the deadline for receipt of bids, and there after bid documents, shall be made available for public inspection. If the total amount of the contract exceeds $100,000, the award of the contract must be approved by the Local Contract Review Board. A contract for work will be awarded or bids may be rejected, separately or entirely, within thirty (30) days after opening.
The General Character of the work for this Project includes: supplying all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to but not limited to the following approximate quantities for major work items:
• Emulsified asphalt slurry seal surfacing 56,544 square yards
Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be examined after May 5, 2016 at the Community Development Building, 51 Winburn Way Ashland, OR 97520 or downloadable on the State of Oregon Information Procurement Network (ORPIN) http://orpin.oregon.gov/open.dll/ welcome, opportunity No. KA 1512- 1830758-16. The contract documents and addendums may be downloaded at no charge, and will not be mailed to prospective bidders. Bidders should consult the ORPIN system regularly until closing to avoid missing any addenda.
Copies of the plans and specifications may be obtained at the City Engineering Office, 51 Winburn Way, Ashland Oregon. No bid shall be received or considered unless the bidder is registered with the Construction Contractor’s Board.
Bidders shall pre-qualify as provided by ORS Chapter 279C.430 and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, Oregon Chapter of APWA, for all classes of construction. Pre-qualification applications must be received by the City of Ashland five (5) days prior to the opening of the bids.
All projects in excess of $50,000.00 require the Contractor to pay prevailing wage rates. This contract requires the bidder to comply with Oregon’s Prevailing Wage Rates.
