REQUEST FOR BIDS: KING COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM MULTIPLE LIBRARY LANDSCAPING MAINTENANCE SERVICES KING COUNTY, WA Bids due: November 2, 2016 @ 1:00 pm Sealed bids will be received for the following project: TITLE: Landscaping Maintenance Services – Multiple Libraries AGENCY: King County Library System CONTACT: Greg Smith TIME/DAY/DATE: Bid Proposals must be received prior to November 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM This will be a public bid opening. The King County Library System (KCLS) is one of the top three largest circulating libraries in the United States. Located in the Puget Sound area, KCLS serves over one million residents at its forty-nine (49) community libraries and Traveling Library Center. Established in 1943, KCLS is a special purpose government that is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees and operates under the constitution and laws of the State of Washington. The King County Library System has forty-three (43) sites throughout King County, Washington that have landscape. Landscaping at each site must be maintained to KCLS-established standards throughout the year in order to present a pleasing and safe environment for patrons. Services will include regular maintenance, irrigation and pruning (Scope of Work – Section 011000) A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the King County Library System’s Service Center, 960 Newport Way NW, Issaquah, WA 98027 on October 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Questions regarding the Contract Documents should be directed in writing to Project Specialist, PMS Department, fms@ no later than October 14, 2016. Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated bids will not be accepted. No bids will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check or by a bid bond issued by a State of Washington licensed surety company in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid plus Additive Alternates, made payable to King County Library System. Bid, Bid Bond and other enclosures shall be enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder and addressed to the Owner per Section 002113. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for opening unless and until award of the contract has been delayed for a period of sixty (60) days. King County Library System reserves the right to reject all bids for any or no reason, to waive informalities and irregularities, to reject any bid not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract Documents, and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time not greater than sixty (60) days from the bid opening date.
