INVITATION TO BID: HUMAN SERVICES BUILDING ADA BATH ROOM UPGRADE AND COPY CENTER REMOVAL SALEM, OR Bids due: February 21, 2017 @ 2:00 pm SOLICITATION NO. ITB # DASPS-1320-17 The contract terms, conditions and specifications may be reviewed for the Human Services Building ADA Bathroom Upgrade and Copy Center Remodel, located at 500 Summer St. NE, Salem, Oregon 97301 for the State of Oregon and sealed bids will be received and publicly opened on February 21, 2017, at 2:00 PM at DAS Enterprise Asset Management (formerly Facilities Division), 1225 Ferry St. SE, U100, Salem, OR 97301-4281. The scope of work for the project includes the remodel of an existing bathroom on the first floor of the Human Services Building, located in Salem Oregon, to make the bathroom compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Project work also includes the remodel of a portion of a copy center room (Copy Center) to incorporate the addition of two lactation rooms (Mother’s Rooms); the purpose of lactation rooms is to reduce barriers to breastfeeding mothers by enabling them to breastfeed their child or pump expressed milk for later use. Lactation rooms are primarily established under Section 4207 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and amended Fair Labor Standards Act, which require employers to provide a private room for lactating mothers, other than a bathroom or locker room. The ADA restroom remodel work may be completed during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Copy Center/Mother’s Room remodel work must be completed after, or before regular business hours, or during weekends. Disruptive work or work that creates excessive noise, traffic, or odors must also be scheduled after hours or on the weekend. Work occurring before regular business hours, after regular business hours, or during the weekend must be prearranged and scheduled with the Owner’s Authorized Representative. This contract is for a Public Work subject to ORS 279C.800 through 279C.870. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on February 3, 2017 at 10:30 AM (Pacific) at the Human Services Building (HSB) located at 500 Summer St. NE, Salem, Oregon 97301 main lobby. BIDDERS OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVE ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE. BIDS WILL ONLY BE EVALUATED FROM BIDDERS OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVE WHO REGISTERED AND ATTENDED THE MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE, AND ALL OTHER BIDS WILL BE CONSIDERED NON-RESPONSIVE.
