NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at, or shortly after 6:30 PM on TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2017, the City of Beaverton City Council will conduct a public hearing on the application described below. The City Council will meet at City Hall Council Chambers, located at 12725 SW Millikan Drive, Beaverton, Oregon. TA 2016-0002 SIGN CODE UPDATE – TEXT AMENDMENT The City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Beaverton Development Code that pertain to sign regulation. Planning Commission Order No. 2530, Exhibit A, recommends certain text amendments for adoption by City Council. These would change current regulations as contained in Chapter 60, Section 60.40 (Sign Regulations) of the Beaverton Development Code, which limit the size, location and number of various types of signs. The text amendments also include changes in sign-related definitions contained in Chapter 90 (Definitions) and to exemptions and permitting in Chapters 10 (General Provisions) and 40 (Sign Permit Application, Section 40.60) respectively. Added for City Council consideration is a proposed amendment to Title 5, Section 6.05.115, of the Beaverton City Code (Obstructing Public Right-of-way). This amendment addition would allow limited use of public sidewalks for placement of temporary portable signs, consistent with the size and location standards identifed in Exhibit A of the Planning Commission Order. The Planning Commission action has not been appealed. City Council will conduct a non-appeal hearing consistent with procedures identified in Sections 50.50, 50.53, 50.55 and 50.57 of the Beaverton Development Code.
