INVITATION TO BID: RANDOLPHN AND COALEDO SEISMIC UPGRADES PROJECT NO. 16024 COOS BAY, OR Bids due: October 19, 2017 @ 2:30 pm Notice is hereby given that sealed bids are invited in single contract proposal for the construction of seismic upgrades to Randolph and Coaledo Halls at Southwestern Oregon Community College located at 1988 Newmark Avenue, Coos Bay Oregon. Work involves selective removal of existing interior and exterior finishes, including gypsum board, suspended ceiling system, clay pavers, plaster soffit and roofing, for the construction of seismic upgrades to the Randolph and Coaledo buildings. Seismic work includes concrete shear walls and footings and plywood shear walls, metal and wood beam drag ties, and strengthening existing beam brackets. Work also includes seismic bracing for non-structural equipment and components, and installing or replacing and finishing materials removed for seismic construction, as well as changing the exhaust fan system from existing plenum to new roof top fans. There are also Alternate Bids for new corridor light fixtures and new rain gutters. Bids must be in writing and delivered to the office of Crow/Clay & Associates Inc., Architecture and Planning; 125 W. Central Avenue, Suite 400; Coos Bay, Oregon 97420. Bids will be accepted until 2:30 P. M., Thursday, October 19, 2017. Bids will be opened and read in a public meeting at the office of Crow/Clay & Associates Inc., scheduled for 2:35 P.M., Thursday, October 19, 2017. Bids received after 2:30 P.M., will not be received or considered. After opening, the bids will be available for public inspection. Construction Documents may be examined at the office of the Architect: Crow/Clay & Associates Inc., Architecture and Planning; 125 W. Central Avenue, Suite 400; Coos Bay, OR 97420; (541) 269-9388; at the prequalified Contractor’s offices listed above and at the following locations: Premier Builders Exchange, Bend; Contractors Plan Center, Clackamas; Daily Journal of Commerce; Dodge Data & Analytics, Portland; Douglas County Plan Center, Roseburg; Eugene Builders Exchange, Eugene; Klamath Falls Builders Exchange, Klamath Falls; Medford Builders Exchange, Medford; and Salem Contractors Exchange, Salem. Prime bidders may obtain electronic Construction Documents by contacting the Architect’s office. No deposit for electronic Construction Documents will be required. A hard copy of the Construction Documents may be obtained from the Architect’s office for the cost of printing. Pre-Bid Conference to be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 5, 2017, at the job site, 1988 Newmark Avenue, Coos Bay, Oregon. Meet at Randolph Hall. The Pre-Bid Conference is not mandatory. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by bid security in the form of a Cashier’s Check issued in favor of the Owner or a bid bond issued by a bonding company acceptable to the Owner. Bid security must be for 10% of amount of the bid and guarantee bids for a period of thirty (30) days after bid opening. The provisions of ORS 279c.800 to 279c.870 relative to prevailing wage rates shall be complied with by the successful bidder and all subcontractors, and appropriate certificates indicating compliance will be required. Within two hours of the bid opening, all bidders to be considered as responsive, shall submit at the above address, a form, disclosing the names, addresses, Construction Contractor’s Board numbers, if applicable, of all first-tier subcontractors whose contract value for labor or labor and material exceeds 5% of the total project bid or $15,000, whichever is greater. Southwestern Oregon Community College may reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, and may reject for good cause any or all bids upon a finding by Southwestern Oregon Community College that it is in the public interest to do so. South western Oregon Community College reserves the right to waive minor irregularities in Bid Form upon a finding by Southwestern Oregon Community College that it is in the public interest to do so.
