NOTICE OF VACANCY ON THE METRO COUNCIL APPLICATIONS TO FILL VACANCY OPENED JANUARY 16, 2018 The Metro Council, the elected board that oversees the regional government for the greater Portland metropolitan area, has declared a vacancy for its seat representing Metro Council District 2, and will accept applications for that vacancy. District 2 generally includes areas within Metro within Clackamas County east of Tigard, Durham, Tualatin and Wilsonville, and west of that was formerly the city of Damascus. It also includes the portion of Southwest Portland south of Interstate 5 and Southwest Canby Street. Some communities within District 2 include Lake Oswego, West Linn, Oregon City, Gladstone, Milwaukie, Happy Valley, Johnson City, Rivergrove, Jennings Lodge, Oak Grove, Dunthorpe and Stafford. The vacancy shall exist until a councilor is appointed by the Metro Council. The new councilor’s term shall end on Jan. 1, 2019. The annual salary of a Metro Councilor is $45,254. An applicant must be a resident of District 2. Applications opened Jan. 16, 2018, and remain open until 5 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018.
