You are invited to take part in the City’s review of this project by sending in your written comments and attending one or more public hearings before the City of Sandy Planning Commission on Monday April 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM with the projected date of a City Council hearing scheduled for Monday May 21, 2018 at 7:00 PM. Both hearings will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers (lower level) at 39250 Pioneer Boulevard. At the public hearing(s), you will be given an opportunity to submit written testimony and present oral testimony. *************************************** FILE NO.: 18-003 ANN Sandy Community Campus Annexation APPLICANT: City of Sandy, Oregon EXPLANATION OF THE PROPOSAL & DECISION PROCESS: The applicant, the City of Sandy, Oregon, request a Type C Annexation for two, City owned, parcels totaling approximately 35.08 acres into the City of Sandy. The current Clackamas County Comprehensive Plan Designation of these properties is Timber (TBR) and the current zoning of the properties is Forest (F). The City proposes to reclassify and zone both properties as Parks and Open Space within the Sandy Comprehensive Use Plan Map and Zone Map. This is a Type IV procedure. If the Sandy City Council approves placement of the request on the next local election ballot, registered voters in the Sandy city limits may approve or deny the annexation request. The parcels will likely be placed on the November 6, 2018 election ballot. PROPERTY LOCATION: To the north of the properties fronting Park Street and east of the Jonsrud Viewpoint property. APPLICABLE CRITERIA: Sandy Municipal Code: Chapter 17.12 Procedures for Decision Making; 17.18 Processing Applications; 17.22 Notices; 17.26 Zoning District Amendments; 17.32 Parks and Open Space; 17.78 Annexation. GENERAL INFORMATION: Any person who would like to comment on this amendment may present oral testimony at the hearing or submit a letter prior to the hearing to the Planning & Building Director for distribution to the Planning Commission and/or City Council. All concerns and issues need to be raised at the hearing with sufficient detail to allow the Council to respond. A public hearing will be held, with opportunity for public testimony by persons in favor and opposed to the amendment. A copy of the reports prepared by City staff on this proposal and the study will be available 7 days prior to the hearing for review at City Hall.
