Public Notice: North Unit Irrigation District Temporary Water Service Contract.

LEGAL NOTICE North Unit Irrigation District Temporary Water Service Contract Pursuant to Public Law 113-244, Crooked River Collaborative Water Security and Jobs Act of 2014, the Bureau of Reclamation will provide a temporary supply, for the 2018 irrigation season, of 10,000 acre-feet (AF) of water from Prineville Reservoir to the North Unit Irrigation District. The water supply is from non-contracted storage space held by the United States in Prineville Reservoir. Due to low-water supplies in central Oregon, the District will utilize Prineville storage to supplement its normal irrigation supply from Wickiup Reservoir (Deschutes Project) and from natural flow rights held on the Deschutes and Crooked rivers. Water will be utilized on lands within the District. Water from Prineville Reservoir will be released into the Cooked River and pumped into the North Unit Main Canal at the District-owned Crooked River Pumping Plant, located 42 miles downstream. Water will be measured and made available at the outlet works of Prineville Reservoir. Written data, views, and comments concerning the contract action may be submitted to the Bureau of Reclamation, Attention: PN-6324, 1150 North Curtis Road, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83706-1234. Upon request, copies of the contract may be obtained when available, and comments or inquiries concerning this notice may also be made by calling 208-378-5344. Published: May 25, June 1, 2018 50007
