PUBLIC NOTICE The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Cascades Field Office of the Northwest Oregon District, has completed a Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DNA) and Decision Record (DR) for the Molalla Fuels Treatment project. The project proposes fuels reduction treatments on less than 100 acres from previous pre-commercial thinnings in Late Successional Reserve forest stands within Township 7 South, Range 4 East, and Township 7 South, Range 5 East, Willamette Meridian. Fuels reduction activities would include roadside pullback and slashing, lopping and scattering, and hand pile burning. Additional information, such as the DNA and the DR is available at the project ePlanning website: In accordance with 43 CFR 5003.2, the decision for this project will be subject to protest after first publication of the notice of this decision in the Molalla Pioneer newspaper. Protests of this decision must be filed with the BLM Northwest Oregon District Office c/o John Huston, Cascades Field Manager, at 1717 Fabry Road SE, Salem, Oregon 97306 by close of business on July 5, 2018. 43 CFR Section 5003.3 subsection (b) states, Protests shall be filed with the authorized officer and shall contain a written statement of reasons for protesting the decision. This precludes the acceptance of electronic mail (email) or facsimile (fax) protests. Only written and signed hard copies of protests that are delivered to the Northwest Oregon District Office will be accepted. The protest must clearly and concisely state which portion or element of the decision is being protested and the reasons why the decision is believed to be in error.
