Charter amendment regarding posting notices of proposed ordinances

NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF BALLOT TITLE FOR THE NOVEMBER 6, 2018 ELECTION A ballot title for a measure referred by the Lake Oswego City Council to voters at the November 6, 2018 Election was filed with the Lake Oswego Elections Officer on July 9, 2018. Any voter may file a petition for review of the ballot title with the Clackamas County Circuit Court no later than 5:00 p.m. July 18, 2018 (the 7th business day after the ballot title was filed with the City Elections Officer) under ORS 250.296. The voter must notify the City Elections Officer (City Recorder) in writing that the petition has been filed. That notice must be given by no later than 5:00 p.m. on the next business day following the day the petition is filed. The ballot title is: CAPTION: LAKE OSWEGO CHARTER AMENDMENT REGARDING POSTING NOTICES OF PROPOSED ORDINANCES QUESTION: Shall the City Charter be amended to remove the requirement to post notices of proposed ordinances in two public places? SUMMARY: Section 33B of the Lake Oswego Charter currently requires that, at least one week before the City Council considers a proposed ordinance, written notice of the ordinance must be posted at City Hall and two other public places
