CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: CU-003-18 CHINMAYA MISSION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Planning and Zoning Hearings Board (PZHB), at or shortly after 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in Conference Room 113B of the Civic Center, 150 E Main Street, Hillsboro, Oregon. At this hearing, the PZHB will consider a request for Conditional Use approval to allow expansion of their existing church by 1,219 square feet for a total of 15,557 square feet. The church is located in the Venture Commerce Center, zoned I-P Industrial Park and obtained conditional use approval (CU-004-13) for its current location October 17, 2013. The Venture Commerce Center is a commercial condominium development consisting of five (5) buildings, A through E. The church has a need for more space for their classrooms and assembly space and would be occupying seven (7) of the eight (8) units located in Building D of this development. The property is owned by Chinmaya Mission, Portland, the applicant is Dr. Kishore G. Pathial, Chinmaya Mission, Portland represented by Matthew Sprague, Pioneer Design Group, Inc. The subject property is specifically identified as Tax Lots 83563, 83575, 83587, 83515, 83527, 83539 and 83551 on Washington County Assessor’s Tax Map 1N2-25BA and is generally located north of NE Tanasbourne Drive, south of U.S. Hwy 26 (Sunset Highway) and west of NE John Olsen Avenue. The applicable approval criteria for a Conditional Use application may be found in Community Development Code (CDC), Section 12.80.020. The staff report on this matter will be available on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. The staff report, the application materials, and the applicable criteria are available for public inspection at no cost, or copies can be provided at reasonable cost, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays, in the Planning Department at the Civic Center, 150 E Main Street, 4th floor, Hillsboro, Oregon. All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting and will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposal. Oral testimony will be taken in the following order: applicant; other proponents; opponents; and applicant’s rebuttal. Oral testimony should avoid repetition of issues, and should be based on the application or on the approval criteria listed above.
