CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: SN-001-18 ROSEDALE PARKS STREET NAME CHANGE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the City Council at or shortly after 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, in the Shirley Huffman auditorium of the Civic Center, 150 East Main Street, Hillsboro. At the hearing, the Council will consider a street name change for several streets in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Planning Department is requesting a street name change for several streets in the City. The Rosedale Parks PUD (Case File No. PUD-001-18) received approval from the City Council on March 21, 2017. In this approval, street names were shown on the conceptual plans for all 16 phases of the PUD. The final plat application for phases one (1) through three (3) of the PUD was submitted on August 7, 2017. During internal review of this final plat, an addressing concern was raised due to the conceptual street names. A revision was made shifting the numbering of several street numbers including SE 59th Avenue, SE 60th Avenue, SE 62nd Avenue, and SE 63rd Avenue. Additionally, SE Adelyn Street was renamed SE Provence Street and SE Centifolia Street was changed to SE Centifolia Avenue. In order to correct the street names as shown on the recorded plat, a formal street name change is necessary. The addresses assigned are correct, as well as City mapping and street signs installed on the streets themselves. ORS 227.120 and Municipal Code Chapter 9.24 set forth the procedure and approval process for naming or renaming streets. The procedure requires a recommendation from the Planning Commission to the City Council if the Commission feels the renaming is in the best interest of the City. The Planning Commission adopted Order No. 8254 on July 11, 2018, recommending that the City Council schedule a public hearing to consider officially renaming and recording several public street segments. On July 17, 2018, the City Council is scheduled to set the public hearing date on this request for August 7, 2018. The staff report on this case file will be available on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. The staff report and the applicable criteria are available for inspection at the Planning Department at no cost. A copy of the staff report can be provided at a reasonable cost. Materials can be reviewed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays, in the Planning Department at the Hillsboro Civic Center, 150 East Main Street, Fourth Floor, Hillsboro, 97123. All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting and will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposal.
