PUBLIC NOTICE MODIFICATION CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR AGGREGATE SITE Notice is hereby given that the Crook County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the Crook County Meeting Room, 320 NE Court Street, Prineville, Oregon to consider the following: Modification – Conditional Use Permit for Aggregate Site Craig and Lucy Woodward (owners) and Knife River Corporation-Northwest (applicant) (Record number 217-18-000347-PLNG) are requesting modification of the conditional use approval authorizing mining and extraction of sand and gravel on the subject property (217-15-000115-PLNG) approved by the Crook County Planning Commission on September 24, 2015). The specific request is to modify condition #9 which limits the operation to no more than 80 truck trips per day from the site. The Applicant is requesting approval to limit the operation to no more than 160 trips per day from the site to meet demand for concrete in Crook County and Central Oregon. Aggregate sites are subject to the requirements of Crook County Code 18.144 and transportation impacts are subject to review under Crook County Code 18.180. The property has been approved as a significant aggregate site in the County’s comprehensive plan and is identified as 14-15-14, Tax lots 702 and 703, at the corner of Stahancyk and Elliott Lane, Prineville, Oregon. Statements will be heard at the hearing. The hearing is being held pursuant to Crook County Code 18.172. Written testimony may be submitted to the Crook County Community Development Department, 300 NE 3rd Street, Room 12, Prineville, Oregon 97754, prior to 4:00 p.m. on October 3, 2018, or at the hearing.
