CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: HCP-001-18 NORTH HILLSBORO SIGNIFICANT NATURAL RESOURCE SITES

CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: HCP-001-18 NORTH HILLSBORO SIGNIFICANT NATURAL RESOURCE SITES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Hillsboro Planning Commission at or shortly after 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Shirley Huffman Auditorium of the Hillsboro Civic Center, 150 E Main Street, Hillsboro. At the hearing, the Planning Commission will consider proposed text amendments to the Hillsboro Comprehensive Plan (HCP), Ordinance No. 6249. The Planning Department is proposing a minor text amendment to the HCP to add significant natural resource sites to the City of Hillsboro’s adopted List of Significant Goal 5 Natural Resource Sites in Hillsboro. The sites are identified in a Natural Resource Inventory & Assessment Report for a portion of the North Hillsboro area located generally north of NE Evergreen Road, south of Highway 26, east of NE Sewell Ave, and west of NE Century Boulevard. The procedures by which a Comprehensive Plan minor text amendment is processed can be found in Section 12.80.164 of the Community Development Code (CDC). The CDC may be viewed online at www.hillsboro-oregon.gov/communitydevelopmentcode or in the Planning Department office. The staff report on this matter will be available on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. The staff report and the applicable criteria are available for public inspection at no cost, or copies can be provided at reasonable cost, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays, in the Planning Department at the address listed above. All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting and will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposal. Oral testimony will be taken in the following order: staff report; proponents; opponents; and Staff’s response. Oral testimony should avoid repetition of issues, and should be based on the application or on the approval criteria. ORS 197.763 provides that under certain circumstances, the record may remain open or a continuance may be granted upon the request of a participant. If you are unable to attend the hearing, you may submit a written statement to the Planning Director at the address shown above, on or before the hearing date. Telephone conversations cannot be accepted as testimony. Please reference the Case File No. on all written testimony. For more information contact: Sarah Bruce, Senior Planner, at (503) 681-6214 or by email sarah.bruce@hillsboro-oregon.gov. Pursuant to ORS 197.763, failure to raise an issue at the final evidentiary hearing, or by close of the record, in person or by letter, or failure to provide sufficient specificity to afford the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals based on that issue.
