PUBLIC NOTICE CROOK COUNTY COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Crook County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Crook County Meeting Room, 320 NE Court Street, Prineville, Oregon to consider the following: Modification to Conditional Use Request – Private Park Chuck Hegele (owner) – Record numbers: 217-18-000241-PLNG (original application) and 217-19-000106-PLNG (modified conditional use request) has submitted a modified conditional use request to site seven (7) recreational vehicle (RV) spaces in conjunction with an approved Living History Museum (217-15-000042-PLNG). A private park is allowed as a Conditional Use under Crook County Code 18.20.020 (EFU-2), 18.160.050(14) (Recreational vehicle park standards) and ORS 215.283(2) Oregon Revised Statutes – private parks in Exclusive Farm Use zones. The property is identified as 14-14-05, Tax lot 800 and is located at 8455, 8483 and 8517 NW Lone Pine Road, Terrebonne, Oregon 97760. The Crook County Planning Commission held public hearings on the proposed use on November 14 and December 12, 2018 and issued a final decision denying the application on January 10, 2019. The applicant, Chuck Hegel, filed an appeal to the Crook County Court on January 18, 2019. The County Court considered the appeal in a public hearing on March 20, 2019 and voted unanimously to affirm the Planning Commission’s denial of the application. However, the County Court allowed the applicant to file a modified application with the Crook County Planning Department within fourteen days of the County Court’s April 3, 2019 decision. The applicant submitted a modified conditional use request on April 10, 2019. The modified request proposes seven RV spaces rather than the original 10 spaces, includes details regarding fencing, and includes specific RV guest rules. The Planning Commission will consider the modified request for a conditional use permit at the direction of the Crook County Court. Statements will be heard at the hearing. The hearing is being held pursuant to Crook County Code 18.172. Written testimony may be submitted to the Crook County Community Development Department, 300 NE 3rd Street, Room 12, Prineville, Oregon 97754, prior to 4:00 p.m. on May 15, 2019, or at the hearing.
