NOTICE OF APPLICATION Pursuant to Section 50.45.4 and .6 of the Beaverton Development Code, public notice of the following application is being provided: McKay Elementary School Street Vacation (SV2019-0001) The Beaverton City Council has initiated proceedings to vacate an existing public right-of-way pursuant to ORS 271.130. The existing unnamed and unimproved public right-of-way is proposed to be vacated and returned to private ownership. The subject right-of-way is surrounded by property owned by the Beaverton School District, on which McKay Elementary School is located. A portion of the school building is located within the existing right-of-way. The right-of-way is approximately 300 feet in length and runs east-west from SW Scholls Ferry Road. The site is located at 7485 SW Scholls Ferry Road. Tax Lot 100 on the Washington County Tax Map 1S123CC. Mailed written comments shall be sent to the Planning Division, PO Box 4755, Beaverton, OR 97076. Written comments submitted in person shall be delivered to the Planning Division, 4th Floor, Beaverton Building, 12725 SW Millikan Way. To be made a part of the staff report, correspondence needs to be received by Friday, June 14, 2019. Please reference the Case File Number and Project Name in your written comments. If you decide to submit written comments or exhibits before the public hearing, all submittals prior to or at the hearing that are more than two (2) letter size pages must include no fewer than ten (10) complete copies of the materials being submitted. The Beaverton Facilities Review Committee will hold a technical meeting on the proposal on June 5, 2019. The Facilities Review Committee is not a decision-making body, but advises the Director and City Council on a project’s conformity to the technical criteria specified in Section 40.03 of the Beaverton Development Code. The Director will include the Committee’s recommendation in the staff report to the decision-making authority. The Facilities Review Committee meeting is open to the public, but is not intended for public testimony. The decision-making authority for the above application is the Beaverton City Council, which will review the proposal in accordance with the approval criteria contained in Development Code Sections 40.03 Facilities Review and 40.75.15.1.C Street Vacation. The City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the above application on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers, First Floor, Beaverton Building. Pursuant to Section 50.88 of the Beaverton Development Code, written comments or exhibits submitted prior to the hearing to be submitted by staff at the hearing must be received by the City Recorder no later than 4:30 p.m. on the day of the scheduled hearing. All submittals that are more than two (2) letter size pages must include no fewer than ten (10) complete copies of the materials being submitted. Copies of the staff report will be available for inspection at the Planning Division Counter or may be purchased at reasonable cost or are available for on-line viewing at www.beavertonoregon.gov. Staff reports are published a minimum of seven (7) calendar days before the date of the initial public hearing.
