CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: SN-001-19 Street Correction 2019 No. 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the City Council at or shortly after 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, in the Shirley Huffman auditorium of the Civic Center, 150 East Main Street, Hillsboro. At the hearing, the Council will consider a street name change for two streets in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Planning Department is requesting a street name change for two streets. The first street name change is located within Reed’s Crossing Planned Unit Development (PUD). The final plat for Phase 1 A Pod C (Case File No.: FPPUD-008-18) was released to the County and approved in May 2019 showing SE Noble Fir Street. During review of an adjacent final plat, it was discovered that SE Noble Fir Street should have been named SE Genrosa Street. The second street name change is located in the south central area of the City. A small segment of SE Ash Street (address number range 4000-4199), located east of SE 40th Avenue and northwest of the existing SE 41st Loop, is contiguous with the existing SE 41st Loop. Therefore, renaming this portion of SE Ash Street to SE 41st Loop would remove the confusion and interruption of the street changing names mid street. No addresses would need to be corrected. Below is a summary of the proposed street name changes: Current Street Name Proposed Street Name SE Noble Fir Street SE Genrosa Street SE Ash Street SE 41st Loop ORS 227.120 and Municipal Code Chapter 9.24 set forth the procedure and approval process for naming or renaming streets. The procedure requires a recommendation from the Planning Commission to the City Council if the Commission feels the renaming is in the best interest of the City. The Planning Commission adopted Order No. 8293 on June 12, 2019, recommending that the City Council schedule a public hearing to consider officially renaming and recording several public street segments. On July 2, 2019, the City Council is scheduled to set the public hearing date on this request for July 16, 2019. The staff report on this matter will be available on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. The staff report and the applicable criteria are available for public inspection at no cost, or copies can be provided at reasonable cost, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays, in the Planning Department at the Civic Center, 150 E Main Street, 4th floor, Hillsboro, Oregon. All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting and will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposal. Oral testimony will be taken in the following order: proponents and opponents. Oral testimony should avoid repetition of issues. If you are unable to attend you may submit a written statement to the Planning Department on or before the meeting date. Written testimony may be mailed to 150 E Main Street, Hillsboro, Oregon 97123. Please reference the Case File No. in all correspondence. Telephone conversations cannot be accepted as testimony.
