Request: A Type III Zoning Code and Map Amendment (ZC-01-19)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Public Hearings will be held before the Cornelius Planning Commission on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 7:00 pm and the Cornelius City Council on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Walters Community Room within the Cornelius Public Library, located at 1370 N Adair Street in Cornelius, to consider the following. Request: A Type III Zoning Code and Map Amendment (City File # ZC-01-19) application to implement the Cornelius Town Center Master Plan and amend adjacent zoning districts and the associated Zoning Map. Applicant: City of Cornelius. Applicable Criteria: CMC Chapters 18.10 & 18.15 (Application & Review Procedures); CMC Chapter 18.125 (Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance). At the time and place listed above all persons will be given a reasonable opportunity to give testimony either for or against the proposal. Testimony may be either in oral or written form and must be relevant to the criteria listed above on which the proposal will be evaluated. At the two respective public hearings, the Planning Commission Chair and Mayor will open the public hearings, a staff report will be presented, interested persons will be allowed to speak for or against the proposal or to ask questions, Commissioners and Councilmembers may ask any general questions, and the public hearing will be closed. In order for an issue to be considered for appeal, it must be raised before the close of the record of the public hearing. Such issues must be raised with sufficient specificity so as to afford the hearing body and the parties an adequate opportunity to respond to each issue. If there is no continuance granted at the hearing, any participant in the hearing might request that the record remain open for at least seven days after the hearing. A copy of the application, all documents and evidence relied upon by the applicant, and applicable criteria will be available for review at the Community Development Department, 1300 S. Kodiak Circle during regular business hours, seven days prior to the scheduled public hearings. Copies may also be purchased at a reasonable cost of 25 cents per page.
