Notice of Budget Committee Meetings Public meetings of the Budget Committee of the City of Sherwood and Sherwood Urban Renewal District, Washington County, State of Oregon to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 6:00 pm, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 6:00 pm, and Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 6:00 pm. The third meeting will only be held if additional time is needed to approve the budget and may be cancelled. Pursuant to House Bill 4212 (2020), these meetings will be conducted electronically and will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/user/CityofSherwood. The purpose of the first meeting is to receive the budget message and budget document, and the purpose of all of these meetings is to provide members of the public with an opportunity to ask questions about and comment on the budget document. Any person may ask questions about and comment on the budget document at these meetings; see the Citizen Comment information below. These are public meetings where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. The first meeting will include a public hearing on State Shared Revenue. The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to submit testimony concerning the possible uses of state revenue sharing funds for fiscal year 2021-2022. The budget document, when available, will be able to be obtained from the City’s website at https://www.sherwoodoregon.gov/finance. Pursuant to House Bill 4212 (2020), citizen comments and testimony for public hearings must be submitted in writing to BodwayD@Sherwoodoregon.gov. To be included in the record for this meeting, the email must clearly state either (1) that it is intended as a citizen comment for this meeting or (2) if it is intended as testimony for a public hearing, the specific public hearing topic for which it is intended, and in either case must be received at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time. Per Council Rules Ch. 2 Section (V)(D)(5), Citizen Comments, Speakers shall identify themselves by their names and by their city of residence.
