Notice of City Measure Election and Receipt of Ballott Totle

NOTICE OF CITY MEASURE ELECTION AND RECEIPT OF BALLOT TITLE CITY OF ESTACADA, OREGON NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a ballot title for a measure referred by the City Council of the City of Estacada was filed with the City Elections Officer on July 29, 2021, for an election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. The election shall be conducted by mail pursuant to ORS 254.465 and ORS 254.470. CAPTION: Charter Amendment extending mayoral term from two years to four. QUESTION: Should the Estacada Charter be amended so that the mayor’s term of office is four years instead of two years? SUMMARY: The current Estacada Charter provides that the term of office for City Councilors is four years, but the mayor’s term of office is two years. This Charter Amendment would amend the Estacada City Charter so that the term of office for Mayor would be four years. A copy of the proposed Charter amendment is available on the City’s website at www.cityofestacada.org. An elector of the city who is dissatisfied with the Caption may file a petition for review with the Clackamas County Circuit Court no later than the seventh business day after the date the title was filed with the City Elections Officer (August 9, 2021).
