Contact Person: Patrick O’Claire, Finance Director (503-526-2241) (poclaire@beavertonoregon.gov) City of Beaverton – Notice of Public Hearing Water System Rate Increase Notice is hereby given that at the regular City Council meeting of Tuesday September 14, 2021, the Beaverton City Council will hold a public hearing on increasing the City’s water rates. The meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. utilizing video conference technology and held in the Council Chamber, located at 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, Oregon. The City Council will consider the following: Review and adoption of a sixty-six-cent ($0.66) increase in the Water Consumption Rate beginning October 1, 2021. The consumption rate will increase from the current $4.23 per CCF to $4.89 per CCF (a CCF is 100 cubic feet of water which is equivalent to 748 gallons). The effect of the increase on single-family residence that uses 8 CCF of water per month would be $5.28 a month or $63.36 per year. Review and adoption of an 8.82% increase in the Water Base (Meter) Charge beginning October 1, 2021. The Water Base rate for the average 3/4 or 5/8 inch residential meter will increase $1.50 per month, from $17.00 per month to $18.50 per month, which is equivalent to an increase of $18.00 per year. All other meter sizes will increase proportionately. The revenues from the rate increase will be used for water system repair and maintenance, additional drinking water supply and storage facilities, and improving the resiliency of the City’s water system. The City Council invites testimony from interested citizens on this matter. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the City will no longer permit members of the public to attend in person. Persons interested in participating may provide verbal comments at the time specified on the agenda by utilizing the video conference link of the meeting, or by providing written comments at least 24 hours in advance of this public meeting to the Office of the City Recorder, P.
