PUBLIC NOTICE

PUBLIC NOTICE -FANNO CREEK FLOOD HAZARD MAP UPDATE The City of Beaverton Community Development Department, Site Development Division, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the City of Beaverton’s intent to revise the flood hazard information for Fanno Creek, generally located between SW Denney Road and SW Hall Boulevard within the Fanno Creek Greenway. Specifically, the flood hazard information will be revised along Fanno Creek from a point approximately 2500 feet south of SW Denney Road within the Fanno Creek Greenway upstream to a point approximately 300 feet south of SW Denney Road. As a result of the revision, the floodway will be modified, the 1-percent-annual-chance water-surface elevations shall be re-established, and the 1-percent-annual-chance floodplain will widen and narrow within the area of revision based on updated topography and surveyed construction points. The Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) have slightly decreased in elevation along Fanno Creek due to the completed improvements. However, with more accurate information than previously used for prior maps that delineated the BFEs and flood hazard limits, the updated boundaries show an increase to the area impacted. Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed at the Beaverton Building (City Hall), Community Development Department, Site Development Division, 12725 SW Millikan Way (4th Floor), Beaverton, Oregon. Interested persons may contact the City Floodplain Administrator at (503) 350-4021 or sitedevelopment@BeavertonOregon.gov for any questions or to make an appointment to review the revised maps in person.
