REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS: METRO PERCENT-FOR-ART OREGON ZOO CENTRAL PLAZA / POLAR PASSAGE RFQ 3202

On behalf of the Oregon Zoo and Metro Regional Government in Portland, Oregon, the Regional Arts & Culture Council is requesting professional artists/teams living in the United States to submit qualifications for a percent-for-art commission for the Central Plaza and /or Polar Passage (polar bear habitat) at the Oregon Zoo located at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR 97232- 2736.
Responses are due no later than Monday, August 8, 2016. All applications must be submitted through CaFÉTM, https://www. callforentry.org/
The project is seeking an artist who will work with the design team of CLR Design, Place Studio and the Oregon Zoo to identify appropriate sites and applications for public art and to subsequently design, fabricate and install artwork at the site. The design phase is underway and construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2017. The total art budget is $200,000.
Metro may accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, or waive irregularities not affecting substantial rights if such action is deemed in the public interest.
