LEGAL NOTICE
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Cascades Field Office of the Northwest Oregon District Office (previously the Salem District Office), has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Molalla Day Use Site Development Project located within Clackamas County, near Molalla, Oregon in Township 6 South, Range 3 East, Sections 30 and 31, Willamette Meridian.
The EA analyzes the Proposed Action, an Alternative Action, and the No Action Alternative. Under the Proposed Action, the BLM will develop two existing day use sites along the Molalla River, the Ivor Davies Wayside and Basalt Rosette Overlook. BLM would pave existing parking areas, delineate organized parking spaces, construct overlook areas, establish safe pedestrian crosswalks, create safe river access and at the Ivor Davies Wayside install a larger vault toilet.
Under the Alternative Action, the Ivor Davies Wayside proposal would remain the same, but the Basalt Rosette Overlook would be changed to include a stairway to the overlook area atop the existing berm located between the Molalla River and the South Molalla Road.
The EA and draft FONSI, including maps and the proposed development figures, are available for public review at the BLM Northwest Oregon District Office, 1717 Fabry Rd SE, Salem, OR, 97306 or online at the project ePlanning webpage: http://tinyurl.com/MolallaDayUseImprovements.
