Consideration of Ordinance 2526 was continued from the November 27, 2012 meeting to the regular meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.  The meeting will convene at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 380 A Avenue, Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Nature of Proposal:
A request from the City of Lake Oswego for legislative amendments to Chapter 50 of the Lake Oswego Community Development Code to clarify and update various sections.  This is the second part of a larger package of code amendments.  The first part was adopted by the City Council on November 1, 2011 (Ordinance 2525).  The proposed amendments address numerous sections of the Community Development Code and are intended to make the code requirements more clear.  In addition, this package includes several issues from LU 08-0052 that were referred back by the Council for additional consideration by the Planning Commission.

On May 30, 2012, the Planning Commission recommended that the City Council approve the proposed amendments.

You may attend the hearing and comment under the section for public testimony.  For more about the hearing procedures, contact staff.

Decision:
The City Council may make a preliminary decision following the hearing.  The final City Council decision must be made by adoption of written findings outlining the reasons for the decision.  That action usually takes place at the next regular Council meeting.

Time Limits on Testimony:
The purpose of time limits on testimony is to provide all interested persons with an adequate opportunity to present and respond to testimony while at the same time ensuring that the hearing can be conducted in an efficient and expeditious manner.  The following time limits on testimony shall be observed, but may be changed by the Council:
Testimony will be taken in the following order: in support of amendment, in opposition to amendment, neutral.
•    10 minutes for a representative of a recognized neighborhood association, homeowner association, or government agency, or other incorporated public interest organization;
•    5 minutes for other persons.
